Skiers who lose a ski during a race are instructed to exit the course and not complete the race due to safety reasons.  Mighty Mite Races encourage athletes who miss a gate to hike to capture the gate they missed. These athlete’s will not be disqualified by the Gate Judge. Please note this rule is different than the current USSA rules.
